COVID 19 - Level 2 Operating Procedures

With the government confirming that Auckland will move from Alert Level 2.5 to Alert Level 2 from 24th September 2020, we wanted to provide you with an update on how this affects our ability to operate at Pier21.

While at Alert Level 2, the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers, and community remains our highest priority. We are following the Ministry of Health’s guidelines and have implemented the following measures to ensure everyone stays safe.

If you are entering Pier21 site you must follow the Government guidelines for Covid 19 Level 2

What does this mean for Pier 21 Dry Stack, Marina and Boat Yard?

From Thursday 24th September 2020, the following Protocol on use of the facilities will apply:

3 KEY POINTS

  1. Social distancing to be observed on site at all times, 1m min apart
  2. QR Codes/Contact Tracking register must be completed by all persons entering Pier21 site. These are located at entry points to the site.
  3. Hygiene: Washing of hands, use of sanitiser, wearing of PPE where necessary is encouraged when on site.

Visiting the Drystack

  • Boats within the dry stack can be requested by usual text method to be launched.
  • All people entering the site must register using the Covid19 QR Code located at top of marina ramps or roller door to drystack.
  • Contact Tracking Register: If you don’t have a QR Code on your phone you must fill in your details in the Contact Tracking Register located by the office on boardwalk. We are keeping a register of all visitors to the facilities here at Pier21 during Level 2 to assist with contact tracing if required. This will be implemented for as long as the government requests it.
  • Entering the drystack should be limited to avoid contact with staff.
  • The marina trolleys will be available during level 2 and ask that you remove all gear and rubbish when finished with them.
  • If you are unwell, you must stay home.

Visiting the Travel Lift Boatyard

  • Booking of boats to be hauled/relaunched will continue through the normal process of phoning our main office line.
  • The office will be open but access will be limited. Administration staff can be contacted either by phoning 09 374 4461 (Mon - Fri) or by email at admin@pier21.co.nz.
    All people entering the site (either by boat, car or walking) must register their visit by using the QR Code located on site. Posters are located at Main gate (tin shed) or by travel lift dock or on top of marina ramps.
  • Contact Tracking Register: If you don’t have a QR Code on your phone you must fill in your details in the Contact Tracking Register located by the office on boardwalk or in the tin shed located at entrance to yard. We are keeping a register of all visitors to the facilities here at Pier21 during Level 2 to assist with contact tracing if required. This will be implemented for as long as the government requests it.
  • Boats can be brought into the travel lift bay for hauling. All people on the boat must follow the protocols of the Govt Covid19 Health & Safety at Work Act. This includes social distancing when disembarking from boat when being hauled. Use must register in the Contact Tracking Register. Located near the main off Beaumont St.
  • Boat owners, local marine businesses and contractors such as painters, boat builder, mechanics, groomers, etc… will be able to work on the boats onsite. But must follow the Govt Covid 19 Health & Safety at work guidelines. This includes wearing of PPE as required. For more information on this visit https://covid19.govt.nz/ website.
  • If you are unwell, you must stay home.

Visiting the Marina

  • All people entering the site must register using the Covid19 QR Code located at top of marina ramps.
  • Contact Tracking Register: If you don’t have a QR Code on your phone you must fill in your details in the Contact Tracking Register located by the office on boardwalk or in the tin shed located at entrance to yard. We are keeping a register of all visitors to the facilities here at Pier21 during Level 2 to assist with contact tracing if required. This will be implemented for as long as the government requests it.
  • Boats in the marina can be accessed for viewing, servicing and maintenance.
  • Access to brokerage boats must be approved by the authorised brokerage. You must follow their protocols for Covid19 level 2.
  • If you are unwell, you must stay home.
  • Social distancing will still apply. People are required to maintain their minimum of 1m distancing from others.
  • It is suggested that people follow the latest Ministry of Health guidelines regarding the wearing of PPE.
  • Use of hand sanitiser is recommended and will be available on site.
